The Walden Lake Golf & Country Club, Hills Golf Course lies just four miles outside Plant City and this challenging 18-hole layout cuts through the natural beauty of the Walden Lake community, featuring 6,610 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. For golfing experts, the course has a rating of 71.5 with a slope rating of 131. It was designed by Ron Garl and has been open since 1978. This particular club specializes in great golf tournaments which are held here at the club’s two golf courses on regular occasions throughout the year and can hold up to 288 golfers. As well as offering 36 holes of Championship Golf, the club also has a fully-stocked golf shop, a snack bar and full service bar, comprehensive facilities for practicing including a driving range and allocated greens, a spacious luxury clubhouse that covers 27,000 square foot with banquet space to serve up to 300 guests as well as facilities for tennis, swimming and fitness. An 18 hole round here could cost you as little as $22 and the club also offers golf lessons from their professional staff at very competitive prices.
One of the oldest courses in the area is the Plant City Golf Club which opened in 1934. This another 18 hole course featuring 6,479 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of and has a slope rating of 118. Plant City golf course opened in 1934. Plant City is also home to the 9-hole course at the Golden Lakes Golf Course facility which opened in 1985 and now provides 3,132 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 31. Other golf courses in Hillsborough County include the Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club in Valrico which has recently undergone a renovation under the supervision of its new owners who have replaced all the existing fairways, greens and traps and implemented new landscaping throughout. The course itself meanders through a natural landscape of stately pines, sparkling ponds and ancient oak trees so it is not surprising that this has been continually ranked among the state’s top ten golf courses. The Bloomingdale Golfers Club can also be found in Valrico and was voted Tampa Bay‘s Number Golf Course, ten years in a row.
