THEODORE N. TAYLOR was born and raised in Ocala, Florida, graduating from high school in 1971. He attended Florida A&M University, where he majored in Political Science, with Concentration in Public Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude in June 1975. Upon graduation, Taylor began law school at the University of Florida in September 1975, receiving with his Juris Doctor degree in 1977. He began practicing law in January 1978.
Taylor’s practical experiences included one year as managing attorney with Zebedee Wright, a private practitioner in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and 1½ years with Lynn Whatley, a private practitioner in Atlanta, Georgia, also as managing attorney. Upon opening the office in Plant City in March 1982, Taylor became the first lawyer of African-American descent to open a law office in Plant City.
Taylor views the practice of law in Plant City as a career calling. As a result, through the grace of God, he has been blessed to enjoy a law career that has improved the lives of many people.
Personal Injury & Wrongful Death
The Firm handles cases involving personal injury and wrongful death resulting from automobile accidents, and other negligence,both for persons who have been injured or have lost a family member through another person’s fault.
The Firm has a broad and varied practice in residential real estate, involving real estate closings, issuance of title insurance, preparation of deeds and contracts, and litigation such as quieting title, partition and foreclosure. Title agent services and issuance of title insurance is available through Attorney Title Fund Services, LLC.
The Firm provides services in all forms of estate administration, from summary proceedings, to formal administration proceedings. The Firm’s experience also includes litigation of probate disputes.
The Firm prepares wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and other estate planning documents to insure that each client’s wishes for the disposition of property can be achieved.
Representation includes areas of adoption, divorce, child support, timesharing, paternity, and child custody. The Firm focuses on minimizing disputes through resolution without contested proceedings, especially when children are involved. Modification of orders are routinely handled by the Firm.
The Firm represents clients in traffic misdemeanor and felony charges, as well as violations of probation and other supervision.
The Firm renders services in all types of guardianship proceedings for minors and incompetent persons, including proceedings to determine incapacity. The Firm also assists individuals to establish voluntary guardianships. Services rendered continue for guardian after the appointment has been made.
The Firm handles both Chapter 7 liquidation and Chapter 13 debt reorganization.
